Light rain possible Saturday as low-pressure system moves through region

A couple relaxes at La Jolla Shores as light rain falls File photo by Chris Stone Times of San Diego San Diego could see light rain and even an afternoon thunderstorm this weekend as a low-pressure system moves south and east across Southern California The National Weather Provision office in San Diego explained Friday that weekend weather will be cloudy with a slight chance of rain in the morning then mostly cloudy with a chance of rain and a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon The chance of measurable precipitation on Saturday is dropping to on Sunday but rainfall amounts will generally be light and decrease from north to south Any rain will be accompanied by by gusty winds of up to mph Highs on Saturday will be to near the coast to inland to in the western valleys to near the foothills to in the mountains and to in the deserts The beaches will see elevated surf of to feet with occasional sets to feet Saturday through Tuesday peaking Sunday night and Monday The weather arrangement forecasts a gradual warming next week with highs near to slightly above normal
